The Rothbury Travel Group has a combined fleet of 80 coaches and a team of over 100 staff. With operating centres based in Northumberland, Edinburgh, Manchester and London the group serves the whole of the UK and Europe.

With state of the art vehicles working for multi-national corporations, the business has gone from strength to strength since its humble beginnings. With further fleet investment planned over the next 5 years the future looks bright.

All our drivers are CRB checked and have recentley undertaken CPC training in order to make sure our passengers are given an outstanding experience when travelling with Rothbury Travel Group.

Our History

Rothbury had early beginnings in 1913 offering a variety of engineering services as well as coach and bus transport.  The ownership changed in the 1930’s and the new owner offered even more services to include agricultural machinery.

In 1973 the company became limited and totally focused on the coach industry.  Under the leadership of the new owner Andrew Mackie the fleet expanded and services developed in the coach industry to service all the needs of the Alnwick region.

In 2001 a major investment was made in the form of the present depot with a new maintenance garage and secure yard.  This depot provides a modern purpose built facility with the size of the yard allowing for further expansion of the fleet.

Andrew Mackie after over 40 years at the helm of the successful company sought a well earned retirement.  New owners took over in 2013 and since that time there has been a considerable investment in the fleet.
